5 best Amazon movies on Prime Video this weekend: The Protégé and more

The final weekend of February is upon us, and Prime Video should be your go-to for incredible Amazon movies and shows.
February saw some great releases with The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Reacher, I Want You Back, and Book of Love. Check out the complete list of February releases that included many favorites from the ’80s and ’90s.
Below are our recommendations for some great movies on Prime Video for the final weekend of February.
5 best Amazon movies for the weekend
The Protégé (2021)
The 2021 thriller, The Protégé, is now available on Prime Video. This film, directed by Martin Campbell, stars Maggie Q, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, and Robert Patrick.
Anna (Q) is the world’s most skilled contract killer who was rescued as a child by legendary assassin Moody (Jackson). When he is brutally killed, she seeks revenge for the man who trained her.
All Roads Lead to Rome
The romantic comedy, All Roads Lead to Rome was initially released in 2015 and stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Raoul Bova, Rosie Day, Paz Vega, and Claudia Cardinale.
Parker plays Maggie, an American who spent her youth in Tuscany, who returns with her daughter and encounters her ex-boyfriend Luca. When her daughter and Luca’s mother run away together, Maggie and Luca are thrown together searching for the pair.
Being the Ricardos
Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem portray the I Love Lucy stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in the Amazon original Being the Ricardos.
This is a biographical film written and directed by Aaron Sorkin featuring stories of the lives of Ball and Arnaz. The movie looks at the Hollywood power couple’s lives, focusing on their careers, relationship, and hit TV show.
You Again
You Again has an ensemble cast that consists of Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, Odette Yustman, James Wolk, Victor Garber, Billy Unger, Kyle Bornheimer, Kristin Chenoweth, and Betty White in her final live-action role.
Marni (Bell) had a horrible time in high school. When she learns that her brother is engaged to her high school bully, Joanna (Yustman), she sets out to show the woman’s true colors. Things are complicated when Joanna’s aunt Romona (Weaver) shows up as she was Marni’s mother, Gail’s (Curtis) rival at high school.
The Village
The period thriller, The Village, was written, produced, and directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
An Amish-style community lives off the grid and lives in fear of “Those of Whom We Do Not Speak.” The story plays out as viewers attempt to figure out the twist that all Shyamalan films inevitably have.
It is an excellent film with an outstanding cast, including Joaquin Phoenix, Adrien Brody, Bryce Dallas Howard, William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, Brendan Gleeson, Cherry Jones, Judy Greer, Michael Pitt, and Jesse Eisenberg with the expected cameo of Shyamalan.
