The Protégé is coming to Prime Video tonight
If you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, you’re in luck. Maggie Q stars in The Protégé, which is available to stream tonight.
There isn’t much new on Amazon Prime Video this weekend. While the new episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel are certainly going to be the top picks for many, there is one new movie joining the streaming platform.
It’s all about the 2021 thriller The Protégé. Maggie Q stars as an assassin in this movie, and it’s official release date is Friday, Feb. 25.
This isn’t a global release. That means it’s probably not going to drop early. It will likely be available to stream at midnight ET on Friday, Feb. 25, which could mean a 9 p.m. PT release time on Thursday, Feb. 24. However, don’t expect it until midnight local.
What is The Protégé about?
The Protégé follows Anna, a young girl who is raised by an assassin after the deaths of her parents. She becomes renowned in the assassin underworld, always getting the job done as quickly and effectively as possible.
Things change when her mentor and father figure is killed. Anna goes on a mission to gain vengeance, making sure she takes care of everyone involved in killing the man she viewed as a father to her.
This is going to be harder than expected, though. Anna finds herself in the underbelly of the assassin world. She ends up in the middle of a battle with an enigmatic killer who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Will Anna see her revenge mission through to the end?
If you’re a fan of John Wick, this is a movie for you. Just be warned that it has had mixed reviews from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
