There’s a new Amazon movie arriving tonight. Get ready for The Tender Bar. Is it something to watch with kids or wait for them to go to bed?

Before you sit down to watch a new movie, you want to make sure it’s suitable for everyone in the house. Will you need to wait for the kids to go to bed to be able to watch this latest Ben Affleck movie?

There is the official The Tender Bar age rating. Then there is the age rating that many people would actually consider it to be. We’ll look at both to help you decide if this is a movie for your family or not.

The official age rating for The Tender Bar

Officially, in the United States, The Tender Bar is rated R. This is pretty much the highest rating for standard movies, and it means that it’s not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.

What’s the deal with the rating? A lot of this is to do with the strong language. There is a lot of swearing. There is also some heavy drinking across all ages considering the time that it is set in.

That’s it. The nudity and violence are pretty mild for an R-rated movie. It shouldn’t be surprising to hear that the UK has actually set the age rating for 15.

What parents say the movie rating should be

When looking at Common Sense Media, parents set The Tender Bar age rating more at at 15. This would factor in some of the language and drinking, but it also takes into account that there isn’t a lot of nudity or violence within.

It has some positive messages and positive role models within it. This is something that older children can probably appreciate.

This will depend on your children, though. In the end, only you can make a decision based on the maturity of your own children.
