When is Encanto on DVD and Blu-ray?

Encanto is the latest Disney movie that has captured hearts. When can you get it on DVD and Blu-ray? Here’s a look at a predicted date for now.

We can only look at a predicted date right now. The Disney movie was released just before Christmas, and it doesn’t have a set DVD release date just yet. That date will arrive soon, but we want to get ready.

The good news is we can look at previous Disney releases to get an idea. We’ll use Soul has the animated movie that can help us determine a date. We’ll also look at the more recent release Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings as another movie to help us guestimate.

Encanto DVD release date prediction

The movie itself was released on Nov. 24 in theaters. That’s an important date as it’s going to be the one that helps us figure out the DVD release.

Soul was released on Christmas Day in 2020. It was a Disney+ only release but that was due to the pandemic closing movie theaters around the world. It would have been released in theaters (and likely a hybrid release with Disney+) if possible. It still took three months for the movie to go from “theaters” to DVD.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings took just less than three months. It came to theaters on Sept. 3 and was released on DVD on Nov. 30.

For the Encanto DVD release date, we’re looking at sometime in February 2022. It could be around February 15 or 22.

If you can’t wait for the DVD and don’t have Disney+, there is some excellent news. You can already buy Encanto on Digital. That release happened a month after the theatrical release due to the pandemic.
