Is Encanto on Amazon Prime Video?

Every Christmas there’s a great animated children’s movie. Encanto is that movie for 2021. Can you watch the movie on Amazon Prime Video?

There are more and more animated movies for children that offer a diverse look at the world. Encanto is bright and colorful, bringing the world of The Madrigals to life. The Madrigals is a family in the Colombian mountains in a place where all children are blessed with a unique gift.

However, Mirabel realizes that she doesn’t have a magical gift. That is until she learns that she may be the only one to protect Encanto and the magic surrounding the area.

This is certainly a movie you’ll want to watch with the whole family. Now the question is where you’re streaming it online.

Encanto is not coming to Amazon Prime Video

The movie was released in theaters at the end of 2021. It then headed to streaming on Friday, Dec. 24. Sadly, that was not Amazon Prime Video, and it’s not going to be. It’s unlikely that this movie will be available with your Prime membership for free for a long time.

Encanto is a Disney movie. You can currently stream it on Disney+. That’s the only place it’s available to stream with a subscription right now.

Will the movie head to DVD and Blu-ray?

There is a very good chance that this is a Disney movie that will head to DVD and Blu-ray. In fact, when you look at the Disney releases, movies have all gone to DVD and Blu-ray eventually. This is usually around three months after the theatrical release.

The same applies to Digital. You will likely be able to buy the animated movie on Digital sometime at the start of 2022. Right now, there is no reason to think that Disney will change its releases all because of its streaming platform. Digital and DVD releases are still a big part of the Disney business. Even Soul released on Digital despite being a Disney+ release in 2020!
