The Wheel of Time Season 2 is not coming to Amazon in 2021

We know The Wheel of Time Season 2 is happening. Now all eyes are on when it will premiere. It’s not coming to Amazon Prime Video this year.

The good news is that we already know The Wheel of Time Season 2 is happening. With the way things ended in Season 1’s finale, we’re excited about that. After all, we have a lot of questions and we need answers.

We do have some bad news, though. The second season is not going to arrive on Amazon Prime Video in 2021. It’s simply impossible.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 may arrive in 2022

The season is currently filming. In fact, there has been another casting announcement. WoT Series shared that Melissa James, Jessica Boone, Isaiah Hodges, and Karima McAdams are joining the cast of the second season.

With filming underway, it’s just impossible to bring the new seasons to us in 2021. After filming, the show needs to go through post-production, and that takes months. Just look at the amount of visual effects needed for a series like this. It can take at least six months to get through the post-production stage, probably longer.

There is a chance we’ll see The Wheel of Time Season 2 in 2022. This is something we hope for. It would be good to see it premiere on Amazon Prime Video in October or November of 2022. And we are expecting a hybrid release format again.

This is something we’ll keep an eye on when it comes to the season. We’ll be looking out for announcements that filming has come to an end, which will give us an idea as to when post-production could finish—some post-production will be happening now for the earlier episodes where possible.
