The Wheel of Time Season 2 is not coming to Amazon in January 2022

The Wheel of Time Season 1 has come to an end, and we have a lot of questions. We won’t get answers from The Wheel of Time Season 2 next month.

We certainly have a lot of questions. While The Wheel of Time Season 1 finale helped to wrap up some storylines, it’s clear that it was written to jump into a second season.

We’re not getting answers for a while, though. The Wheel of Time Season 2 is not going to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in January 2022. That’s not surprising at all, but it didn’t stop us from checking the full list of arrivals in the month just in case.

The good news is The Wheel of Time Season 2 is happening. The renewal came way ahead of the Season 1 release, with filming starting quickly after the announcement. Filming is currently ongoing.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 release date predictions

Of course, with filming ongoing, we were never expecting the release of The Wheel of Time Season 2 in January. This is not a series that will film half a season and release that right away.

There is a lot of work to do still. After the show is filmed, it will need to go through the post-production stage. There are a lot of visual effects to add to a series like this, and it can mean six months to a year to get through this stage.

We saw how long it took just to get the first season. Granted, there was the pandemic that caused a problem and some delays, but the visual effects were also part of the long time frame to get the show. We won’t be looking at a two- or three-year delay, but we won’t likely see The Wheel of Time Season 2 arrive in 2022. I’m predicting early 2023 at the earliest.
