The Boys Season 3 is not coming to Amazon in January 2022

We’re all waiting for the return of The Boys on Amazon Prime Video. The wait continues. The Boys Season 3 is not coming next month.

If we’re honest, we didn’t expect the new episodes to drop at the start of 2022. That didn’t stop us from hoping for a miracle. We’ve double-checked the list of new arrivals on Amazon Prime Video in January 2022 just to make sure we didn’t miss it, but The Boys Season 3 isn’t on there.

Now all eyes are on when the season will arrive. We’re also wondering what type of release format we’ll get.

The Boys Season 3 release date predictions

We’re not expecting the new season any time soon. While filming wrapped earlier this year, this is a show that goes through a lot of post-production. There are a lot of visual effects.

The announcement of the animated spin-off confirmed that we don’t expect the show for another few months at least. We’ve heard The Boys: Diabolical is coming sometime in early 2022. That suggests it’s acting as a gap to help us get through the break until the third season.

The Boys Season 3 will likely release weekly

Don’t expect a binge-watch release for this series. Amazon Prime Video has started to move into the weekly release format. We just have to look at the likes of The Wheel of Time, The Expanse, and I Know What You Did Last Summer recently to get an idea as to how Amazon is working.

We will likely see a hybrid release. This is the way Season 2 came out. We got the first three episodes at once and then the rest of the season on a weekly basis. It seems to be working well, so why would Amazon change back to the binge-watch release model?
