There has been a lot of updates about The Wheel of Time because of NYCC 2021. One of those updates was about casting on The Wheel of Time Season 2.

Rafe Judkins was able to tease a little about The Wheel of Time Season 2 during NYCC 2021. This is despite us not having the first season yet. The show has already been renewed and production has already started.

Production means casting. We found out that one very important character from the books is going to show up in the second season. There are two other women cast, but we don’t yet know who they will play on the series.

Ceara Coveney joins the cast of The Wheel of Time Season 2

The second season will see Ceara Coveney join the cast. She’ll play Elayne Trakand, who is Queen of Andor and Cairhien. She has a lot more titles than that in the books. Think of her as a bit like Game of Thrones Daenerys Targaryen when it comes to the number of titles she has!

Elayne was born as the Daughter-Heir of Andor, and she headed to the White Tower for her education because of that. While there, she became one of the most powerful channelers of the era, growing close to Egwene al’Vere, Nynaeve al’Meara and Min Farshaw.

We may get to hear a little about her during the first season, but we won’t meet her until some point in the second season.

Two more joining The Wheel of Time cast

We’ll also see Natasha O’Keeffe and Meera Syal join the cast of the series. Both are coming in The Wheel of Time Season 2, but that’s all we know for the time being.

Rudkins wouldn’t share the names of the characters. Maybe by sharing that, fans of the books would figure out too much about the second season. There are some benefits of keeping casting a secret when it comes to book adaptations.

What we do know is that they’re important to the storyline. We’ll let you share your theories.
