I Know What You Did Last Summer followed the same basic storyline as the book and the 1997 movie. However, the identity of the person hit changed.

We knew that I Know What You Did Last Summer was going to follow the basic storyline of the book and the 1997 movie. A group of teens hit and kill someone on their way home from a party. Rather than go to the cops, they decide to hide the body and pretend like it never happened.

A year later, someone turns up with threats. This person knows what the teens did, and there’s a threat to all of them.

Who did the teens hit on I Know What You Did Last Summer?

This is where the storyline changes a little. I Know What You Did Last Summer‘s movie had the teens hit a stranger. That wasn’t the case is the show. Our main character, Allison has a twin sister Lennon. They are identical twin sisters, which is an important plot point.

Lennon is the one driving the group of teens home when she hits something. One friend wants to believe that it’s a goat, but Lennon knows it’s not. It turns out that it’s Allison.

The group decides to take Allison’s body to the cave, leaving her there and pretending she ran away. The friends point out that Allison didn’t have any friends so only her dad is really going to miss her.

As the audience, we get to find out the full truth. It wasn’t Allison who was hit. Allison actually picked up Lennon’s jacket and got in the car. Lennon’s friends just assumed that it was Lennon in the car. Lennon was the one hit, but everyone just assumed it was Allison.

In the second episode, Allison has to figure out what to do next. It turns out their dad can immediately tell them apart, but will Allison tell him the full truth? You’ll need to watch the second episode to find out.
