I Know What You Did Last Summer is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. What is the series about and how does it connect to the movie?
You can now stream the first four episodes of I Know What You Did Last Summer on Amazon Prime Video. You’ll recognize the title as that of a popular 1997 horror movie. Is there a connection between the two?
The series is based on both the 1997 movie and the original 1973 novel by Lois Duncan. However, the series is only loosely based on both the original content and there is no direct connection to either of them in the series.
What is I Know What You Did Last Summer about?
The Amazon series focuses on a group of teens on their way back from a graduation party. They accidentally hit someone.
That someone isn’t a random stranger. If you don’t want to be spoiled by who the person is, we won’t tell you here. We have a whole post specifically about that.
The group of teenagers decides they’re going to keep the accident a secret. They hide the body in the local cave and promise to never speak about it again. Of course, their secret isn’t going to remain that way.
Someone knows about what they did. It’s only a matter of time before someone starts coming after them, killing them off one by one. Will the teens be scared into admitting everything to the police, or will they focus on who is the one after them? They believe that it’s someone within the group, but what if someone else knows the truth?
This is a gory horror movie. While it’s classed as a YA horror series, it has a TV-MA rating for a reason.
Four episodes are available to stream right now. The other episodes will release weekly, giving us a chance to break down our theories about who is behind the attacks and who will be next.
