Undone Season 2 is not coming to Amazon in October 2021

Undone Season 2 was confirmed back in November 2019, but we’ve barely heard anything about it since. All we know is that it’s not coming in October 2021.

It didn’t take long for Amazon to renew Undone after its successful first season. We’re certainly happy about that. The series left us with a major cliffhanger. Was everything in Alma’s head or did she actually time travel and change her father’s death?

It’s been since November 2019 that we’d heard a lot about the series. All we know is that it’s still in the works, but it’s not going to arrive in October 2021.

Some of it is on the actors’ other projects. For example, Rosa Salazar, who is Alma on Undone, has been in a number of other projects in recent years including four episodes of B Positive.

Undone Season 2 release date predictions

The biggest issue for the Amazon series has been the pandemic. This isn’t like other animated shows. The episodes are filmed in live-action first. That means filming can’t happen without the actors involved, and there have been delays to that due to the pandemic.

After that, the animation is drawn on top of the live-action scenes. That requires extra post-production work, which can further delay things. While that work can be done at home, it requires a lot of extra animation work than a normal animated show or movie.

We’re looking at sometime in 2022 at the earliest for Undone Season 2. I’d even say we’re looking at the middle to late 2022, and it’s likely that the second season will be the last due to the delays. It’s something we’ll certainly keep an eye on.

We don’t even know how many episodes will be in the season. We’ll probably see eight episodes, which will match the first season.
