Upload Season 2 is not likely coming to Amazon in 2021

If there’s one Amazon show we’re waiting to return, it’s all about Upload. Sadly, it looks like we’re waiting longer than we’d like for Upload Season 2.

Upload hit our screens in May 2020 and very quickly impressed. It had a great synopsis, some excellent writing, great graphics, and a wonderful cast dynamic that have all made us want much more. The good news is Upload Season 2 is definitely happening.

There is some bad news, though. We had hoped that Upload Season 2 would arrive sometime in 2021. With filming wrapping earlier this year, we had hoped there was a chance for that to happen. Even if it was December, it would be better than having to wait until 2022.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like a 2021 release is possible after all. Upload Season 2 likely won’t arrive until 2022.

When will Upload Season 2 release on Amazon Prime Video?

TVLine shared the bad news in Matt’s Inside Line earlier this month. One fan asked about any news on the series, but there was nothing to share. The only news was that the series probably wouldn’t arrive until 2022.

Of course, this is “probably.” That doesn’t mean a 2021 release is impossible, but we should probably stop hoping for that to happen.

We don’t have an idea of when in 2022 the series will arrive. We’re hoping for sometime in early 2022 considering how long the series has been in post-production. Granted, it is going to take months for post-production when you consider how much of the series is set in a digital world.

Will it be the full season at once or will we have to wait each week like we have with The Boys and The Expanse? That’s not clear yet. It’s going to depend on what the show has requested. More and more streaming shows are looking at weekly releases because it’s better for the series as a whole (even though viewers want the binge-watch).
