Unlike other countries such as Belgium, sales of books are not deemed to be essential, despite studies indicating more people turned to reading in the first lockdown earlier this year, and outlets have had to close their doors until December 2. Bookshop.org, which was launched in the United States earlier this year, is now available in Britain and in just a few days has generated £60,000 for the retailers taking part in its "click and collect" service. J.D. Robb’s newest book Forgotten in Death is just one of the seven new books entering the list of most sold Amazon books last week. Here’s a look at the full list of most sold books from Sept. 12 to Sept. 18, 2021.

Forgotten in Death is certainly the most notable addition to the list during the week. It entered the list in the top spot, knocking The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave down a spot.

The addition isn’t that surprising. Robb’s books (the penname for Nora Roberts) are extremely popular and tend to immediately hit the top of the most sold list when they’re released.

Beautiful World, Where Are You, The Night She Disappeared, and more

Forgotten in Death certainly wasn’t the only new book on the list of most sold Amazon books last week. It was just the highest.

Beautiful World, Where Are You by Sally Rooney entered in fourth place, causing some changes in the Top 5. In fact, there were only two books from the previous week’s Top 5 still in those top spots.

In the Top 10, another two books entered for the first time. The Night She Disappeared by Lisa Jewell and He Who Fights With Monsters by Shirtaloon made their debuts. The remaining three new books entered further down the list.

There was a bit of upset with the new additions. The Casanova by T.L. Swan lost 11 places throughout the week, dropping just outside the Top 15. It wasn’t the largest drop of the week, though. The Madness of Crowds by Louise Penny lost 13 places and just holds onto a spot on the list.

When it comes to movement up, Verity by Colleen Hoover gained the most spots. It gained four places to get into the Top 10.
