Many Amazon Prime members have been waiting for the Camila Cabello and Billy Porter’s version of Cinderella to premiere on September 3. In the meantime, the Prime Video team has collaborated with the non-profit organization Shoe That Fits to help students start off the school year on the right foot.

According to the non-profit’s CEO and executive director, Amy Fass, one in five children live in poverty. “Shoes are one of the most expensive items for low-income families to provide, and too many families have to choose between putting food on the table or buying new shoes for school,” Fass says. Because shoes are vital to the plot of Cinderella, partnering with Shoe That Fits to bring elementary and middle school students 5000 pairs of athletic shoes across the nation was a natural pairing.

Deliveries started off on August 30 at Rosecrans Elementary School in Compton. At the school, children were given branded boxes with shoes for themselves and school supplies like markers and water bottles in addition to shoes for their families. The 500 students at the Ricardo Lizarraga Elementary School near downtown Los Angeles also received branded boxes with shoes and a $15,000 donation from Zappos. This generous campaign continued across the United States, where students in 11 cities like San Francisco, Chicago, and Miami were given a pair of shoes and school supplies.
