Carnival Row Season 2 is not coming to Amazon in September 2021
We’re patiently waiting for many Amazon Originals, and Carnival Row Season 2 is one of them. Sadly, the wait continues as it’s not coming next month.
We were hoping to see Carnival Row Season 2 on the list of September releases, but that’s not the case. We’ve double-checked the list just in case, but it’s not there.
While we didn’t expect the full season, we had hoped that the show would opt to release Season 2 in two parts. In fact, that’s something we’ve hoped for with a few Amazon shows, similar to the way Netflix released Lucifer Season 5 and is releasing Money Heist Season 5.
It’s not the case right now. Will Amazon choose to just release the season in full? That looks like it might be the case.
Carnival Row Season 2 release date predictions
Five out of eight episodes had completed filming before the pandemic shut things down. Filming then resumed in May 2021, but it wasn’t until recently that Orlando Bloom was able to return to filming due to the birth of his child.
Filming is still going on. Just days ago, Deadline reported that Jamie Harris has been upped to series regular for the second season. He plays Sergeant Dombey, which means more trouble from the cops.
We have had some teases along the way if you follow the stars on Instagram. Cara Delevinge shared photos from behind the scenes, including her back that shows holes where her wings would go. Is she losing her wings?
Once filming is finished, don’t expect it right away. It took 17 months between filming finishing on the first season and to get the season on Amazon Prime Video because of the VFX work afterward. With some concepts already confirmed, it’s possible that the post-production work could take a little less time, but this is why we’re hoping for half the season now and half later.
Carnival Row is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Stay tuned for Carnival Row Season 2 updates.
