Is Carnival Row renewed for Season 2?

There are some Amazon shows that we’ve heard very little about. Carnival Row is one of them. Is Season 2 happening at Amazon Prime Video?

When it comes to fantasy shows, Carnival Row immediately stood out. This wasn’t just another book adaptation. It’s not that there’s a problem with book adaptations, but sometimes, we want something fresh and new. Carnival Row was exactly that.

Set in a Victorian-style London, the series follows a world where magical creatures exist. In fact, humans helped to fight a war for the magical creatures to protect them, and now they’re seeking refuge with the humans. Of course, the humans don’t exactly like them, leading to the magical beings becoming outcasts in a world resentful of them.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard much about the series. Will Carnival Row Season 2 happen?

Has Carnival Row been renewed?

We start with the reminder that Season 2 is happening. The show was renewed ahead of the first season debuting, showing the support and expectations Amazon had for it.

Will there be a Season 2 of Carnival Row?

Some networks have been “unrenewing” shows due to the pandemic. You may be worried that’s the case here since it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Season 2. The good news is Amazon hasn’t unrenewed any shows. Carnival Row Season 2 is still officially happening.

We don’t know exactly what the season will cover, but it will follow on from the ending to the first season. All magical creatures were forced into the ghetto, and that included Philo, who revealed himself to be half-magical creature, so he could be with Vignette.

When does the new season of Carnival Row start?

We had hoped that the early renewal would mean a short gap between seasons. Admittedly, that would have been the case had it not been for the pandemic. Filming started at the end of 2019, but it was put on hold in March 2020 when all productions were shut down.

Filming is now complete. We’ll hopefully see the second season before 2021 comes to an end.
