The Boys Season 3 is not coming to Amazon in August 2021

The wait for The Boys Season 3 continues. It is not on the list for Amazon releases in August 2021. When can we expect the new season?

We’ve double-checked the list of shows and movies coming to Amazon in August 2021. Sadly, The Boys Season 3 is not on the list.

To be honest, we didn’t really expect it to be on the list. Filming is still happening in Toronto, and it’s set to go on for a little longer. Jensen Ackles did recently share that he’s hoping to get back home to the family in Texas soon, which would suggest filming is close to being finished.

Of course, it could be a break with some of the quarantine rules for vaccinated individuals coming in. However, it could also mean that the show is reaching the end of filming, even if it’s just for Soldier Boy.

The Boys Season 3 release date

So, what are we looking at as a release date? We’re still saying sometime in 2022.

Even once the show has wrapped filming, there’s going to be an extensive process for the post-production work. There are a lot of effects needed for this series. We’d rather wait for the effects to be just right than for anyone to rush things.

We’re hoping early 2022 is possible. It would have been earlier had it not been for the pandemic halting filming.

The show will likely have the hybrid release format again. This was a decision by the show that Amazon supported, and it made the series one of the most-watched Amazon Originals. There’s no doubt that weekly releases keep a series in the public’s eye for longer, helping to keep shows on the air for longer.

Plus, we have that build-up between episodes. If you really want to binge-watch, you can always wait for the finale to drop.
