Mare of Easttown was initially billed as a limited series, but there are a lot of calls for a second season. What do we know about Mare of Easttown Season 2?

There are many shows billed as limited series. That doesn’t mean they remain as limited series. We just have to look at Big Little Lies on HBO and The Great on Hulu/Amazon Prime Video internationally to see that limited series can land second seasons.

Now calls are on HBO to renew Mare of Easttown for a second season. Right now, that hasn’t happened. That doesn’t mean it won’t. HBO would be happy to do it, but there has to be a story there. And the show will only happen if there is that story there.

Mare of Easttown Season 2 premiere date

There isn’t a premiere date to announce just yet. Without an official renewal, it’s hard to say when the show could premiere. After all, there needs to be a story first to even start filming.

We’d be looking at sometime in 2022 at the earliest, but we probably won’t see the second season until much later.

There is one person we need to see return to Season 2: Kate Winslet.

The good news is Winslet is interested in returning. She loved playing Mare, and as long as there’s a story there, she’ll be back.

Other characters could return, but it would depend on the story. As long as Winslet returns, we’ll be happy.

Naturally, there isn’t a trailer just yet. The second season hasn’t even been confirmed so filming can’t happen to bring a trailer. We’ll be sure to bring one as soon as it’s available.

The season would likely follow another murder investigation for Mare. However, the focus of the first season that drew us in was all about her character growth. We need to see more of that in the second season.
