The Umbrella Academy Season 1 and more coming to DVD and Blu-ray this week
It’s another week, which means more movies and TV shows coming to DVD and Blu-ray. The Umbrella Academy Season 1 is just one of the releases on the list.
There are nine DVD and Blu-ray releases confirmed for Tuesday, June 22 right now. One of those is a show we didn’t think would head to DVD.
The Netflix Original The Umbrella Academy is finally heading to DVD. It’s not common for Netflix shows to get the DVD treatment because Netflix likes to keep things as exclusive to the platform as possible. However, now and then, we get a series on DVD.
Usually, the releases happen about a year after a show comes out on Netflix. It’s been two-and-a-half years since the first season came to Netflix, so it was easy to think the DVD release would never happen.
Nobody, The Unholy, and more
There are a few movies heading to DVD and Blu-ray, too. Nobody was one of the big pandemic releases starring Undone‘s Bob Odenkirk. It follows a suburban dad who is mostly a pushover in his life. When two thieves break into his home, he doesn’t initially react in a way to protect his family, making his wife and son lose respect for him.
After that, the father realizes that he needs to do more for himself and his family. He decides to confront the criminals, and it certainly leads to some bloody moments.
For those who prefer horror, The Unholy is coming to DVD this week. Starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan from The Walking Dead, the movie follows a journalist who heads to a small town to follow a story. That story is of a young girl who has the power to heal people after a visit from the Virgin Mary.
Naturally, he doesn’t believe her. When he gets to the town, he realizes that something supernatural is going on, but it may not be from a source of good.
