Is Panic Season 2 coming to Amazon in 2021?
Panic is the latest YA series on Amazon Prime Video, based on the novel of the same name. Could we see Panic Season 2 come to Amazon in 2021?
As of right now, Amazon hasn’t renewed the series. We’re looking forward to Panic Season 2, although it’s not clear how it could work.
The first season did seem to wrap up the majority of storylines. In fact, all the important storylines were wrapped up, with just a few questions about what could happen in the future. Of course, that’s the way all stories end up eventually.
Is it possible that we’ll get some of the answers on Panic Season 2? And if we do get it, will it arrive in 2021?
When could Panic Season 2 premiere on Amazon Prime Video?
It’s highly unlikely that the season will arrive in 2021. That’s even if we get a renewal today. It just isn’t possible to film a 10-episode season and get it through post-production within the next six months.
It takes 14 to 18 months for most Amazon shows to release new seasons. With a show like Panic, we’d look at the shorter time frame assuming a renewal happens within the next month or so. There just isn’t the VFX needed like there is with the likes of The Boys and The Expanse. That would mean we’re looking at July 2022 at the earliest for the season.
The longer we’re waiting for a renewal, the later the season will arrive. Just look at Homecoming, which is still to get the greenlight on Season 3 after Season 2 debuted in May 2020. We’re hoping Panic Season 2 happens and the show isn’t quietly canceled.
