Is The Underground Railroad renewed for Season 2?

The Underground Railroad brought Colson Whitehead’s novel to life. Will there be more to Cora’s story? Has Amazon renewed the show?

If you haven’t read Whitehead’s novel of the same name, you’re going to want to get right on that. No, it’s not historically accurate when it comes to the actual Underground Railroad, but that doesn’t take away from the real horrors of the Antebellum South.

There are other elements of the story that are fictionalized, but there is still a horror within the stories that lead to Cora and Caesar running way. You’ll cry your heart out and fear for Cora’s life throughout, even though you know how it ends on the show. To be honest, there are some changes to the ending of the story, which are more than worth reading the book for.

And while there is a novel, many people want to see what’s next for Cora. Did she get to freedom in the end? Will The Underground Railroad Season 2 happen so we can find out?

The Underground Railroad Season 2 isn’t going to happen at Amazon

There is some bad news. The Underground Railroad was always envisioned as a limited series. It was based on the book, and the ending for Cora was very similar to the book. There’s still that ambiguous ending, as we never really know if she got to freedom. We just have to hope that she did.

Amazon hasn’t asked for the show to be extended just yet. Well, if Amazon has, there’s been no agreement and no news of it.

Of course, there are times that limited series will turn into continued stories. Just look at Big Little Lies and The Flight Attendant. However, there are also times that a limited series remains that way, and it looks like that will be the case for this Amazon show.
