Will The Expanse Season 6 come in 2021?

We know The Expanse Season 6 is happening, but the question is when that will be. Is it possible we’ll get the sixth season in 2021?

We know the bad news. The Expanse Season 6 is the last. This wasn’t an Amazon decision, but one made by the creators of the series. It’s all linked to the time jump in the books, and we can respect the decision of the creators to bring the show to an end in their own way.

It doesn’t mean we have to like it, but we can respect it. Of course, we’d love for there to be more of the books developed for the show, but that’s just not happening in the current format.

Now all eyes are on when the sixth season is going to arrive on Amazon Prime Video. Will The Expanse Season 6 come to Amazon this year?

Could The Expanse Season 6 premiere in 2021?

There is a chance that we could see the season premiere in 2021. Filming on the season started in February 2021, and it’s reportedly finished, which means the post-production stage will be happening now. However, I say reportedly as I can’t find where I did see filming had come to an end! There’s not been a big announcement.

That being said, there is still time for the show to premiere at the end of 2021. This is especially the case if the show opts for the hybrid release method again. It gives the post-production team time to get the later episodes finished up while the first episodes are airing.

We’re probably looking at December 2021 to match the release dates of the previous seasons on Amazon. However, if there are delays or problems, then we could see the release pushed to the start of 2022 at the latest.
