The Peripheral release date, cast, trailer, synopsis, and more

With five more actors joining The Peripheral, it’s time to look at everything we know about the upcoming Amazon Original. When will it be out?

Amazon has a few book adaptations in the works. While most of them are within the fantasy realm, there is one that stands out in the sci-fi genre. The Peripheral by William Gibson is in the works.

The book follows two storylines within two different timelines. The people in these two timelines will need to work together if they want to create a better world for everyone. Just how is that going to work? That’s the fun in the book, and it will be the fun in the series.

We already know of a few people involved in the upcoming series. Recently five new actors have joined the show, but do we have a release date? Here’s everything we know so far.

The Peripheral release date

There isn’t a release date just yet. The show only started filming last month, so we’re looking at 2022 at the earliest for the release.

Chloë Grace Moretz will take on the lead role of Flynne Fisher in the series. She’s joined by Jack Reynor as Flynne’s brother, Burton, and Gary Carr as Wilf, who is the person from the future she’ll need to work with.

We also know the following are part of the main cast:

  • Eli Goree as Conner
  • Charlotte Riley as Aelita
  • JJ Feild as Lev
  • Adelind Horan as Billy Ann Baker
  • T’Nia Miller as Cherise
  • Alex Hernandez as Tommy Constantine

Deadline announced five others joining the cast in recurring roles. They are:

  • Louis Herthum as Corbell Pickett
  • Chris Coy as Jasper
  • Melinda Page Hamilton as Ella
  • Katie Leung as Ash
  • Austin Rising as Leon

There isn’t a trailer just yet. That’s not going to arrive until closer to the premiere date, whenever that may be.

The Peripheral synopsis

The series is set in a world where technology has made some big advancements. Burton is a Marine Corps vet who is hired for a security job that is supposed to take place in cyberspace. His sister, Flynne, temporarily takes over the job and witnesses something that could be a murder.

She ends up getting a call from the future that could lead to everything in her life changing.
