Modern Love Season 2 is coming to Amazon Prime Video in August 2021
The wait for Modern Love Season 2 is almost over. The season will drop on Amazon Prime Video in August 2021, and here’s all you need to know.
There is no doubt that we’re excited about the second season of this anthology show. The first season brought all types of love to the screen, and not everyone got their happily ever after. It felt like real life, which isn’t surprising considering the show is based on a New York Times column that involves very real modern love.
Modern Love Season 2 was delayed due to the pandemic. However, filming has now wrapped, and Deadline reports that the season will be released on Friday, Aug. 13.
All eight episodes of the season will drop at once. There’s no need to worry about the hybrid release model that some of the top shows are getting.
Two new cast members join Modern Love Season 2
The cast from the first season isn’t returning. It’s one of the benefits of anthology shows, especially where each episode tells a different story. Big names can join for an episode to be part of something beautiful but not get caught up in long contracts.
Minnie Driver, Kit Harington, and Anna Paquin are part of the second season, but we already knew that. The news of the release date also brought news of two more actors joining the show.
Outlander‘s Tobias Menzies and Ratched‘s Sophie Okonedo are joining the series for an episode. They’ll be in the same episode, presumably opposite each other, with their episode filmed in Dublin, Ireland. Modern Love‘s showrunner John Carney directed their episode.
There isn’t much longer to wait, and it’s good to know of some big Amazon shows and movies coming throughout the summer months. We can’t wait to hear about more.
Modern Love Season 1 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Modern Love Season 2 arrives on Friday, Aug. 13.
