While it is the final season, there’s no doubt that we’re excited to see The Expanse Season 6 story. There’s still a wait for it, though.

We’ve scoured the list of June 2021 releases, and The Expanse Season 6 is not on the list. There’s still a bit of a wait for the final season, which will see the Roci crew back together after the fifths season saw each of the four core members on individual, personal missions.

While there is still more story to tell in the books, the showrunners of the series have decided that Season 6 will be the last. Without too many spoilers, the books see a big time jump that is filled with a peaceful time. Peace doesn’t make for good TV!

After that, the main characters would need aging up. CGI is possible, or the show could opt for recasting like The Crown, but everyone has decided it’s best just to end the TV series with the sixth season. Fans can turn to the books for the next part of the story.

When should we expect The Expanse Season 6 on Amazon?

To be honest, we didn’t expect The Expanse Season 6 to come to Amazon Prime Video in June 2021. The show has only just started filming the season, and it will take months to get through all 10 episodes.

After that, there is the post-production stage. That takes another few months, especially with something like this sci-fi series. The post-production needs to be done well to avoid taking viewers out of the story with the graphics. And there’s no way we can fault the show up to this point, so it’s worth the wait.

Will the season arrive in 2021? There is still a small chance, but we’re possibly looking at early 2022 instead. We’ll be sure to keep you updated.
