What’s streaming on Amazon this week: May 24–28, 2021
The last week of May is extremely quiet when it comes to content streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Here’s what you can watch from May 24 to 28, 2021.
We’re hitting the time where streaming services and premium cable networks are struggling for content. While broadcast networks were hit throughout 2020 because of the pandemic, the way streamers and cable networks film and release content, there was still plenty to come until the start of 2021.
With shows not being able to film during the spring of 2020 and into the summer months, there’s very little to arrive. That’s leading to a lack of content streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Channels.
However, there’s one major release on Amazon Prime Video that you should be looking forward to.
Panic is streaming on Amazon Prime Video this week
The big release is Panic, based on Lauren Oliver’s book of the same name. In fact, Oliver has been directly involved in the writing of the series for TV, which is excellent news for fans of the novel. This isn’t about a team of writers looking to make a book their own but about an author having the chance to correct wrongs and find a way to make book moments stand out on screen.
The series follows a group of graduating high school students in a small town. Every senior is allowed to play Panic, a game that will lead to the winner getting a life-changing amount of money. Not everyone will play, and there can only be one winner.
Oh, and the cops in town are looking for any signs of the game after two students died the previous year. The intention isn’t for anyone to die, though.
All 10 episodes of the YA series will drop on Friday, May 28. You won’t want to miss out.
