It’s very unlikely that the show is going to get a second season. This isn’t due to Amazon canceling git, but the fact that it was originally billed as a limited series. The creators only intended to make the one season, similarly to The Underground Railroad.

Of course, many shows have been billed as limited series and ended up getting renewed for second seasons. Big Little Lies is one of the most common shows that comes up in this discussion, but The Great on Hulu (and Amazon internationally) is another.

If the series is renewed, it’s going to have a different cast. One of the beauties of this anthology series is that the big-name actors were only involved for one episode easy, offering them a mini-movie to be a part of. That can often help to get some major names to sign onto projects since they’re not contracted for years.
