There are seven DVD and Blu-ray releases happening on May 11, 2021. The Mauritanian is arguably the biggest release, but what else should you look out for?

We will start with the release of The Mauritanian. It’s been one of the most publicized movies of 2021, starring Tahar Rahim and Jodie Foster. Based on a true story, it’s a must-watch for all those who don’t quite understand some of the things that happened at Guantanamo Bay.

Rahim plays a man with his whole future ahead of him. That is until it looks like he worked for Osama bin Laden, and suddenly he finds himself imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay where he simply tries to hang onto his sanity. Of course, once in there, it’s almost impossible to get out, and one lawyer needs to prove his innocence to make it possible.

There are some powerful performances in the movie, and if you’re only going to buy one DVD and Blu-ray this week, make it this one.

The Marksman, Justice Society: World War II, and more

There are plenty of other movies heading to DVD and Blu-ray, though. The Marksman is a notable addition for those who love Liam Neeson movies. Neeson stars as Jim, a Marine-turned-rancher who ends up having to make a life or death decision.

When a young boy comes to his ranch looking for safety from a violent gang, Jim needs to decide whether he’s going to protect the boy or hand him over. Protecting the boy means putting his own life on the line, but he has the skills to do that, right?

Absentia‘s Stana Katic, Matt Bomer, and Darren Criss voice characters within this latest DC animated movie. Justice Society: World War II sees The Flash clash with the Speed Force and end up in World War II. Wonder Woman is leading the Justice Society charge against the Nazis.

Want a rom-com? William Shatner, Christopher Lloyd, and Jean Smart star in Senior Moment. Shatner plays a retired Air Force NASA pilot who is hanging out in Palm Springs enjoying life. When he meets a beautiful woman, he wonders if the bachelor life is really for him.
