The last week of April is quiet when it comes to DVD and Blu-ray releases. Here’s what to expect, and what to look forward to in May 2021.

With such a quiet start to the year in terms of movie releases in theaters, it’s not that surprising that April has been a quiet month for DVD and Blu-ray releases. The two go hand-in-hand.

The good news is things will pick up a little in May 2021. There are some bigger releases to look forward to including Judas and the Black Messiah, The Mauritanian, and The Alienist: Angel of Darkness (yes, a series but it counts).

But what about this week? What can you look forward to watching on DVD and Blu-ray?

Vanquish is coming to DVD and Blu-ray this week

There is only one release happening on Tuesday, April 27. I warned you that it was quiet!

Ruby Rose stars in Vanquish as Victoria, a drug courier who has chosen to leave that life behind. Of course, once you’re in, it’s very hard to get out.

Her problem is she was a drug courier for the Russians, and now she wants to be the mother her daughter deserves. It’s not the Russians who are going to be the problem. Retired cop Damon is the one that becomes the issue.

He wants her to handle some gangsters. To make her, he kidnaps her daughter. Now she has no choice but to follow his orders, but will she also enact revenge?
