Amazon Video releases: What’s coming to Digital this week? [April 19–25, 2021]

It’s a new week, which means there must be new content coming to Digital. It is very quiet, but here’s a look at the Amazon Video releases for the week, April 19–25, 2021.

Let’s start with the honest fact that there is only one new addition to Amazon Video this week. Because of the pandemic, there haven’t been that many movies released. Warner Bros. found a way with a theatrical/HBO Max hybrid release, but many other studios are putting their movies on hold.

That has an effect on Amazon Video releases. There just isn’t enough to come to Digital each week. We knew this was going to be a problem, but it’s disheartening to see no change after so long.

But let’s focus on the positive in that there is at least one Digital release. It’s something for the horror fans.

What are the Amazon Video releases this week?

The Mortuary Collection is arriving on Digital on Tuesday, April 20. It stars Clancy Brown, Caitlin Custer, Sarah Hay, and Michael C. Nelson.

This is a horror/fantasy movie, and was released back in October. It’s taken some time to head to Digital, and it heads to DVD and Blu-ray on the same day. It was a Shudder Original, which will explain the delay.

The Mortuary Collection sees Sam arrive at Raven’s End Mortuary, where she sees a help-wanted sign. Montgomery Dark gives her an interview, which includes a tour through the facilities along with fascinating tales of the people he’s met throughout his years.

Sam isn’t just there for work though. She has a confession to make. Why is she at the mortuary?
