Amazon’s Them is a harrowing look into evil, both in human and paranormal forms. Is it any good? Should you stream or skip Them?

This is one of those Amazon shows that has mixed reviews. Some people love it for the messages and the themes, while others find the horror and violence a little too much. And it’s okay to both love and dislike it.

The series starts off as a series about a Black family moving to an all-white neighborhood after suffering a devastating loss. It turns into a story about fear both inside and outside the house.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, you may be looking into reviews but trying to avoid spoilers. This is the place for that. Is Them good?

Should you stream or skip Them on Amazon?

This is going to be one of those shows that simply isn’t for everyone. It’s got nothing to do with the horrors of racism in the past, but the violence and traumatic events that happen on the screen. It doesn’t hold back, with Episode 5 having a very important trigger warning on the screen.

If you’re not one for violence in TV shows, you’ll want to skip the series. If violence doesn’t bother you too much, the series could be worth checking out.

Despite the supernatural elements, there are a lot of grounded storylines. This isn’t just of racism, but also of grief. It’s one of pain and sorrow that grows because of the fear.

The series felt like it lost some of its oomph toward the end, and I think the use of having one episode focused on flashbacks didn’t help there. It will certainly give you an idea of what to expect when Them Season 2 arrives.
