After being nominated for six Oscars, there’s no doubt that you want to check out Nomadland. Is it streaming on Amazon Prime Video?

One of the good things about some of the bigger movies being pushed to 2022 is that it’s given some of the smaller, more meaningful movies a chance. Nomadland is one of those movies, nominated at the Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress, among others.

It’s an outstanding movie, but where do you get to watch it? Is it on Amazon Prime Video?

Sadly, it isn’t. You’ll need access to a different streaming service to watch this one. Nomadland is streaming on Hulu.

What is Nomadland about?

The movie follows Frances McDormand as Fern, a woman who loses her job when the plant she’s worked at all her life shuts down. For some, this would be devastating. It is initially for Fern, but then she decides to take action.

She uses it as a chance to travel the American West. She takes jobs along the way, including a season job at Amazon.

The movie is based on the book Nomadland: Surviving American in the Twenty-First Century by Jessica Bruder.

Is Nomadland good?

Before you get another streaming service to watch a movie, you need to know that it’s going to be worth it. Is Nomadland any good?

It has gained excellent reviews from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, rated Certified Fresh with a 94% approval rating. Audiences are also positive about it, giving it an 81% score.

This is deemed McDormand’s best performance of her career. It’s not that surprising it’s been praised. There is a slow pace at the start to get through, but it’s worth it for the rest of the movie.
