What is Promising Young Woman about?
Before you watch it, you need to know what type of movie you’re getting into. Mulligan stars as Cassie, a 30-year-old medical school drop-out who lives with her parents. She’s smart but also cunning, and part of that involves her faking being drunk at clubs so men will take her home. When they try to sleep with her, she reveals everything. All that comes from her friend being raped at school and nothing being done about it.
When she finds out her friend’s rapist is getting married, Cassie decides to get revenge against everyone who was against her friend. Things get very messy indeed.
