When is Cherry starring Tom Holland coming to DVD and Blu-ray?
Cherry is now available to stream on Apple TV+ as well as watch in some theaters. When will the Tom Holland movie head to DVD and Blu-ray?
Like so many other movies right now, Cherry has had an untraditional release. It did initially come out in theaters, but Apple TV+ snagged the distribution rights and quickly released it for streaming.
This makes it harder to work out when (or even if) Cherry will come to DVD and Blu-ray. There is a chance that the Tom Holland movie won’t make it to DVD at all. With it being on a streaming service, it could only get the streaming release. It could become more of an original for the service than anything else.
However, because it had a theatrical release, it’s possible that it will come to DVD and Blu-ray. With the Feb. 26 theatrical release, we’re probably looking at the end of May for the movie to head to DVD and Blu-ray. With Apple TV+ getting the distribution rights, it’s unlikely to happen, though.
What is Cherry about?
Not even sure about the movie? It’s been one of those that has gone under the radar because of a few other bigger releases. We’ve had Coming 2 America, Raya and the Dragon, and The Mauritanian in recent weeks.
The movie is based on the book of the same name by Nico Walker. In fact, Holland plays a fictional character who is based on Walker.
It’s a poignant tale about opioid addiction. A veteran who suffers from PTSD turns to robbing banks to fuel his opioid addiction. Look out for Tom’s brother Harry in the movie. He’s the “shaky kid,” a role that Harry will play in all of Tom’s future movies.
