There have been a few teases for The Wheel of Time in recent months. The latest tease looks like it could be footage from the actual series.

A bit before 2020 came to an end, we got a look at how the blade was crafted for the show. Then as 2021 arrived, we got to see some of the concept art for the all-new series.

We’ve long-hoped that The Wheel of Time would arrive sometime in 2021, and it looks more and more possible. The latest footage certainly makes it look possible.

We get a look at the ruby-encrusted dagger that is going to be a major problem for so many characters in the series (if it follows the books closely enough, that is!). However, the footage that we’re seeing doesn’t look to be more animated concept art. Instead, it looks like it’s from the actual series.

Take a look at the ruby-encrusted dagger from The Wheel of Time

The show shared the 14-second clip on its social media accounts. There isn’t much to work with, but one of the characters says “Alright, let’s make a deal.”

We’re assuming it’s Matrim Cauthon, who Barney Harris will play, saying this line. After all, in the book The Eye of the Storm, he is the one who finds the dagger in the first place. Matrim also likes to make a lot of deals, so it would make sense that he’d say it.

If you look closely at the end of the clip, there is something that glints on the screen. It’s hard to make out what it is, but there are a lot of theories going around. Could it be a giant serpent ring? Maybe it’s a flash of the opening credits.

Whatever it is, it certainly has us all the more excited about series. One thing is certain: this looks like it’s real footage and now we want more!
