Amazon’s horror series I Know What You Did Last Summer has landed nine new cast members. No details about the characters have been revealed yet, but Madison Iseman is reported as the lead of the series.
Deadline shared the news of the nine cast members joining the series. News broke about the horror series back in October 2020.
Who is joining the cast?
Iseman, best known as Bethany from Jumanji and Jumanji: The Next Level, is thought to be the lead in the new I Know What You Did Last Summer series. She’ll take on a role similar to Jennifer Love Hewitt in the 1997 movie. If the show follows the movie exactly, she’ll be the Final Girl.
Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, and Bill Heck are the other eight actors joining the YA horror series.
It’s not clear who the actors will play. We’re looking for the characters from the movie who Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Ryan Philippe played.
Now that the show has its cast, filming can begin. Production will take place in Hawaii, starting this month. A lot of Amazon shows are starting production this month, which means we’ll likely start seeing the shows come out sometime toward the end of the month or at the start of 2022.
What is I Know What You Did Last Summer about?
Sara Goodman will write the series. It is set to have the same premise as the original movie, and the novel by Lois Duncan the movie was based on.
The series will take place in a small town where a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer. That mysterious killer is connected to a man they believed they killed a year ago—a murder they have kept a secret all this time.
Will the show opt for a different twist? In the movie, the killer was the man the teenagers believed they killed. Could the show opt for a twist by bringing in the killer from the second movie instead? Maybe it could be someone else connected to the original victim.
