One of the newest Amazon shows came out in 2020 and quickly proved itself to be one of the best. Upload is a show that is decades in the making, waiting for the right technology for the show in mind. And it has been worth the wait.
Robbie Amell stars as a computer programmer in a world where a person’s consciousness can be uploaded into a digital afterlife. There’s no need to die permanently anymore. However, it’s an elitist system, and our lead computer programmer just wants to make something free for all.
Of course, he’s killed before he gets that chance. Uploaded into a digital afterlife, he realizes that there is a bigger conspiracy going on. Now he needs to figure out who killed him and why, along with navigating the girlfriend and the love interest in the real world.
Upload was quickly renewed for a second season. With that in mind, it’s no wonder it’s on this list of most-watch Amazon shows from 2020.
1. The Boys
Finally, it’s all about The Boys. The superhero show with a twist was the No. 1 most-watched Amazon show of the entire year.
And quite honestly, that isn’t surprising. There were many reports about it being the most-watched show on Amazon when it came out throughout the summer, and that was with the weekly release. Maybe it being released weekly helped to make it the top most-watched show since it kept the show on everyone’s minds.
If you still haven’t seen it, The Boys is based on the graphic novels of the same name. It’s set in a world where superheroes are celebrity figures. They have all the big deals and they do save the world, but they’re a business. And the superheroes know they can’t be stopped, so they’re are the most awful people out there.
A group of vigilantes called The Boys will do whatever it takes to stop Vought and the team of superheroes. However, in the second season they need to deal with a superpowerful Nazi, and she won’t be easy to take down.
The Boys Season 3 was confirmed before the second season even premiered.
