The Croods: A New Age is the long-awaited sequel that all kids want to see. If you don’t want to head to theaters right now, when will you be able to watch it at home?
The Croods 2 will get a DVD and Blu-ray release date. After all, the first movie did. The big question is when that will happen.

We shouldn’t use the first movie as a guide. It took seven months for The Croods to go from theaters to Blu-ray. There were other releases years after, including the 4K version earlier this year! It’s unlikely Universal Pictures will wait that long to bring the sequel to DVD and Blu-ray.
The Invisible Man took three months
We can look at other Universal Pictures releases, especially those during the pandemic. The Invisible Man went to theaters and then quickly went to VOD to rent. It only took three months to head to DVD and Blu-ray, which is about common for Universal Pictures movies.
We’re looking at about that time frame for The Croods: A New Age. That means look out for around the end of February 2021 for the release date.
Sadly, it won’t be in time for Christmas.
Update Jan. 6, 2021: The Croods: A New Age DVD release date is set for Feb. 23.
When will The Croods: A New Age come to Digital
The Digital release won’t be timed with Christmas 2020, either. It’s hard to say when the movie will be available to buy.
Usually, Digital releases happen a week or two before the DVD release. This year, things have been mixed. While some movies have still released a little earlier, others have released at the same time as the DVD release dates.
The good news is The Invisible Man was released two weeks early. We should look at the middle of February for The Croods: A New Age on Digital.
