While there’s plenty arriving on Amazon Prime Video on Dec. 1, it’s a quiet day for DVD releases. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing worth buying.

The Neighborhood Season 2 is the biggest release of the week. The third season has already premiered on CBS, but it’s still worth getting the previous season. After all, this is a show you can watch out of order, making it great for when you just need a good laugh.

You’ll get all the episodes from the season that was abruptly cut short by the pandemic, as well as a select few bonus features. If you’re only going to add one new DVD to your shopping cart, this is the one you need.

Two movies on DVD and Blu-ray this week

There are two other DVD releases on Dec. 1. The first is Made in Italy, which got its Digital release back in September.

Liam Neeson stars as the father in this father-son movie. After the death of his mother, Neeson’s character takes his son to the Tuscan villa he’s inherited. They spend time restoring the old villa, which gives them a chance to reconnect. Neither have ever gotten over the death of their wife/mother after two decades, but the Italian sun may help to change things.

For those who need a thriller this week, The Rental is available on DVD and Blu-ray. Two couples head to a rented house together for a fun weekend. If only it could remain fun. Their host acts strange, and it’s soon clear that this host may be far more dangerous than they initially seem.

At the same time, the couples’ darkest secrets are revealed. Can they make it through the weekend now that the truth is out?
