8 Amazon Originals are joining Amazon Prime Video in December 2020

With more than 90 titles joining Amazon Prime Video in December 2020, you don’t have time for everything. You may narrow your options down by only looking at Amazon Originals joining the streamer.

There are eight new additions throughout the month. Whether you want a thriller, a mystery, or something for the kids, you’re covered.

Here are eight Amazon Originals coming to Prime Video in December 2020. The list is in order of them arriving on the streaming service.

Sound of Metal

After a number of successful one-night gigs, punk-metal drummer Ruben suffers from intermittent hearing loss. This is a condition that will only get worse, which could have a detrimental effect on his music career. If that happens, he’s sure his life is over.

Fearing he’ll suffer from a drug relapse, his girlfriend checks him into a secluded sober house for the deaf. Ruben realizes that his life may not be over after all, especially when he learns some innovative sound design techniques that could change everything.

Sound of Metal is available to stream on Dec. 4.

The Wilds Season 1

If you love a good mystery with plenty of twists, you’ll want to check out The Wilds. The entire first season will drop on Amazon Prime Video at once, and is LOST meets The Society.

A group of teenage girls end up on an island after their plane crashes. They need to work together if they want to survive, bonding in ways that only an experience like this makes it possible.

There’s a major twist to the series. The crash wasn’t an accident, and their parents may have had something to do with it.

This is one of the group of Amazon Originals joining Prime on Dec. 11.

Clifford The Big Red Dog Season 3A

If you’re looking for something for the kids, you’re in luck. Clifford the Big Red Dog Season 3A is dropping on the streaming service. Clifford and his human, Emily Elizabeth, are back along with the rest of their friends. They get to become hard-hitting reporters, spend a day at the fun fair, build the coolest clubhouse ever, and more.

The series is a lot of fun. Friends learn how to look out for each other, which are certainly lessons our children need to learn. You’ll get a few hours to yourself with this series, too.

Check out new episodes of Clifford the Big Red Dog on Dec. 11.

I’m Your Woman

It’s time for another original movie. I’m Your Woman is one of those for thriller fans. Rachel Brosnahan stars as Jean in this female take on the ’70s crime dramas. Her career thief husband, Eddie, betrays his partners and it puts a bounty on Jean’s head. She goes on the run with her baby with the help of Eddie’s friend Cal.

When Cal goes missing, she needs to work with Cal’s wife, Teri, to figure out where their husbands are and save their own lives. This is one of the must-watch Amazon Originals of the month.

Check out I’m Your Woman on Dec. 11.

The Expanse Season 5

Ready for another series of one of the best sci-fi shows on TV ever? The Expanse Season 5 premieres on Amazon Prime Video in December 2020. It’s getting a weekly release, so you have something to look forward to every Wednesday until February 2021.

This season sees the Belt decide to fight back after centuries of exploitation. Meanwhile, humans are leaving their homes for other parts of the solar system in search for new lives. For the Rocinante crew, the past and present will converge. There are plenty of new personal challenges and a war to prevent.

Episodes will begin on Dec. 16 on Amazon Prime Video.

The Grand Tour Presents: A Massive Hunt

Top Gear and Grand Tour fans will want to tune in for the next of the Amazon Originals. The Grand Tour Presents: A Massive Hunt is one of the big specials from the three hilarious hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond.

The three believe they’re heading off on a cushy road trip. They think their road trip will involve racing on the world’s most expensive piece of tarmac on the island of Reunion. Instead, they head to Madagascar to take on one of the world’s toughest roads in not-necessarily suitable cars.

Check out the special on Dec. 18.

Sylvie’s Love

Looking for a romance movie with potential heartbreak? Sylvie’s Love will be the one to check out during the month. Tessa Thompson stars as Sylvie, an aspiring television producer. When she meets Robert, a saxophonist, it’s love at first sight. The two would love for nothing more than to be together, but their situations pull them apart.

Years later, the two reunite. While their lives have changed, their feelings haven’t. Will they finally get the chance to be together?

You’ll be able to watch Sylvie’s Love on Dec. 25.

Yearly Departed

Finally, we’ll be saying goodbye to the terrible year that 2020 is. While we have no idea what 2021 is going to bring, there’s no doubt that we’re saying good riddance to this year. And we’re not the only ones.

In Yearly Departed, Phoebe Robinson will host a comedy special with some of the best female comedians in the business. They’ll look back at the events of the year to see it out in the style it deserves.

The comedy special will be available on Dec. 30.
