If you’re looking forward to new content on Amazon Prime Video in December, you’ll be excited about the arrival of The Wilds. It’s the newest original series coming to the streamer.

Not only do we have a release date, but we also know the main cast and have a trailer to see what to expect in the new show. Here’s everything you need to know before it drops.

The Wilds release date

All 10 episodes of the first season will be released at once on Friday, Dec. 11. Everything is heading to Amazon Prime Video as part of your Prime subscription.

If you don’t have Prime yet but are considering it for this series, you can get the free trial. You will also be happy to hear that the first episode will be available in front of the paywall on social media between Dec. 11 and 25. You’ll need to sign up for the other episodes.

The Wilds cast

There are nine ladies making up the lead cast, starring as the teenage girls who have been stranded on an island after a plane crash. They are:

• Sarah Pidgeon as Leah Rilke
• Jenna Clause as Martha Blackburn
• Erana James as Toni Shalifoe
• Helena Howard as Nora Reid

• Shannon Berry as Dot Campbell
• Mia Healey as Shelby Goodkind

Other cast members include David Sullivan as Dr. Daniel Faber, Troy Winbush as FBI Agent Dean Young, Joe Witkowski and Thom, and Jarred Blakiston as Alex.

The Wilds synopsis

Initially, the series may have a LOST vibe. Nine teenage girls are stranded on an island after their plane crashes. They’re trapped and afraid, and they’re not even all friends.

Tensions run high as they figure out where they are and how to get word out that they’re stuck here.

However, think of this more as like LOST meets The Society. It turns out the teenagers haven’t accidentally ended up on the island. Their families may have arranged to send them there!

The series isn’t just a chance to tell a survival story. It’s a coming of age story. Being a teenage girl is hard on its own, but these girls have to figure out who they are and what they’re capable of, while fighting off the lives they left behind.

Amazon Prime Video has released the full trailer for the series. It’s an excellent snapshot into the lives of each of the girls, as well as the bigger mystery to unfold.
