Will Run starring Sarah Paulson come to DVD and Blu-ray?
Will Run be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the future?
If you love thrillers and Sarah Paulson, you’ll be excited to hear about the latest movie Run. It’s currently available to stream on Hulu, but will it come to DVD and Blu-ray?
There is a chance you can own Run on DVD and Blu-ray in the future. The Hulu original is a Lionsgate movie, and it was originally intended for a theatrical release. The pandemic forced Lionsgate to make a few changes to its plan, which led to the release on Hulu on Nov. 20.

Lionsgate movies tend to come to DVD and Blu-ray within three months of their theatrical release dates. We’d usually look at February 2021 as a rough date for the DVD. However, this could change with the streaming release. It’s hard to say the exact type of contract Hulu and Lionsgate will have entered into.
Hulu content can go to DVD and Blu-ray
Like other streaming services, not all Hulu content heads to DVD and Blu-ray. However, some does. The Handmaid’s Tale and Castle Rock are just two examples of Hulu originals going to DVD. This could mean Run gets the same treatment.
It could mean that there’s a delay in the release date. It can take about 12 months for most streaming offerings to head to physical disc. This helps to keep the content exclusive to the streamer long enough to make money from it.
Is Run worth getting?
If it goes to DVD, will Run be worth buying? It will depend on what you want to gain from a thriller. This is an excellent one for representation, with Keira Allen, who plays Chloe, being a wheelchair-bound actress. This sort of casting and representation is something many have called for over the years, and it’s not just lip service. Chloe’s character is fully developed and not just someone to feel sorry for. Allen steals the show.
Critics give Run a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and it is Certified Fresh. What about the audience? 78% liked the movie, making it something that could be worth a chance.
