5 good Amazon movies to watch this weekend: Twilight movies and more

With the release of Midnight Sun, make the Twilight movies your Amazon movies this week

It’s the weekend, and that means you’re looking for something to watch. While there aren’t any new Amazon movies coming this weekend, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to watch.

As Midnight Sun has been released, it makes sense to put the Twilight movies on your list to watch. For other releases, you’ll need to turn your attention to Amazon Channels again.

Here are five good Amazon movies to watch this weekend.

Twilight movies

You actually get four movies for the price of one with this entry. Yes, we are definitely cheating. However, if you only have time for one movie, make it the first one.

Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer was released this week. It’s the first book told from Edward’s perspective, which gives us a look at his feelings for Bella from his own point of view instead of the things he told Bella.

It’s not clear if the other books will be told from his point of view. I’d love to see New Moon done from his, but we’ll have to wait and see. For now, we have the Twilight movies.

Birds of Prey

Turn your attention to HBO for this release. Aug. 15 saw the release of Birds of Prey, the Harley Quinn movie that we’d all been waiting for.

This DC movie sees Harley Quinn after her breakup from The Joker. Now she needs to break away from the dependability on him, while also figuring out a way to keep herself safe from the villains coming after her. Harley teams up with other women to become a team of anti-heroes looking to protect themselves.

Men in Black movies

Looking for classic Amazon movies? You’ll want to stick with HBO through Amazon Channels. The first two Men in Black movies have come to the streamer.

The first movie sees the introduction of the franchise, with Will Smith’s character getting the chance to become a defender of Earth. The Men in Black protect the world from alien invasions, and there’s a big problem to deal with as the first one.

Captain America

Want another superhero movie? Captain America: The First Avenger is still streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It’s the first movie when you look at the overall timeline, set in the Second World War with the introduction of Steve Rogers.

When a serum is created, it requires the perfect specimen to test it out. Steve Rogers may not be anything physically but he is pure of heart. That makes him the perfect person to show what this serum can do.

He goes on to become the defender of the world during the Second World War, even if it means making the ultimate sacrifice.

Book Club

Finally, it’s time for a little bit of fun. This is one of those Amazon movies you probably wouldn’t consider at first, but it’s a lighthearted option.

Four older women are in a book club. They decide to tackle 50 Shades of Grey, which opens their worlds in ways they never considered. How will the books help them spice up their own relationships?
