The King of Staten Island will be available to buy on Amazon Video this week
Things have been quiet on the Digital releases front recently. While this week is still somewhat quiet, there’s a big release many will be looking forward to. Here’s what you can buy on Amazon Video this week.
There are five new releases throughout the week. Not all are on Tuesday, Aug. 14, the traditional day of the week for Digital, DVD, and Blu-ray releases. There’s one today and one coming on Friday.

The King of Staten Island is certainly the most notable mention. Up until now, you’ve been able to rent the movie on VOD. This was Universal’s mid-pandemic plan to help people at home with new content and to give good movies a chance. It did well, and there has been a lot of praise for Pete Davidson with a movie that is based on his life.
Now it’s available to buy on Amazon Video. You’ll be able to get it on Aug. 11.
If you like movies with a sinister twist, Relic is something to consider. It follows Edna, who goes missing from her remote country home. The 80-year-old woman lives alone and it’s up to her granddaughter and daughter to find her.
When Edna returns home on her own, the two hope that everything can go back to normal. However, strange things start to happen. Is Edna suffering from dementia or demon possession? That’s something her daughter and granddaughter will need to figure out.
