The Peanut Butter Falcon is one of the Amazon movies to watch next month

We’re getting into a new month, which means you’re likely looking at the new list of top picks from Amazon Prime Video. There are some great Amazon movies, which can make things overwhelming.

These picks are released throughout the month. Here are the five top Amazon movies coming throughout August 2020.

Chemical Hearts

More from Movies on Amazon

We’ll start with the Amazon Original movie heading to the streamer later this month, which is based on Krystal Sutherland’s “Our Chemical Hearts.” Riverdale‘s Lili Reinhart stars as Grace, a new girl in school who starts writing at the school newspaper with 17-year-old Henry Page.

Despite never being in love, Henry is a romantic. He’s looking out for that one true love and doesn’t think Grace is his type. Little by little, he starts to fall for her. Does she feel the same way for him?

Chemical Hearts is on Amazon Prime Video on Aug. 21, 2020.

The Peanut Butter Falcon

Shia LeBeouf had an exceptionally strong 2019 with a couple of movies. The Peanut Butter Falcon was one of them, and now it’s coming to Amazon Prime Video. The movie also stars Zack Gottsagen in the lead, as a man with Down syndrome who runs away from a residential nursing home to become a pro wrestler.

LeBeouf is an outlaw, who becomes this young man’s coach. He also becomes a friend. It’s a heartwarming tale that you need to watch this month.

The Peanut Butter Falcon is on Amazon Prime Video on Aug. 6.

Top Gun

There are some great movies from the 80s being added to Prime during August. One of the top Amazon movies has to be Top Gun, starring Tom Cruise.

I don’t think it needs any introduction, but in case it does, it’s about Maverick, a top pilot who loses a friend and gets a chance to redeem himself. However, he can’t quite get over the loss. To make matters worse, he starts to fall for Charlie, his civilian instructor.

Top Gun is available to stream from Aug. 1.

The Holiday

If you love rom-coms, you’ll want to turn to The Holiday. It stars Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, and Jack Black. This isn’t anything groundbreaking, but it’s a Christmas rom-com that sometimes everyone just needs.

When two women are fed up with their lives, they agree to do a house swap for the holidays. That leads to them both meeting people in new countries and having to decide what they want in life after this swap ends.

The Holiday is one of the Aug. 1 drops.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold

Finally, it’s a movie for the whole family. If you haven’t watched Dora and the Lost City of Gold, please don’t listen to those who disliked it. Yes, it’s over the top. Yes, it’s predictable. But it’s an enjoyable ride that is everything corny action. Plus, the kids will love it!

Dora is grown up. Now she’s moving from the jungle to the wilderness of American high school. She’s ready for anything, but does that include rescuing her parents from their exploration?

You can stream the Dora the Explorer live-action movie from Aug. 3.
