All the Digital releases on Amazon Video this week

It’s a new week, which means new Digital releases. What exactly can you get on Amazon Video from July 13 to 19?

Sadly, there isn’t much in the way of new releases. This isn’t all that surprising with the lack of DVD releases. Movies haven’t made it to theaters for understandable reasons. Most studios have moved their releases to later in the year.

So, what is it that you can buy this week? There’s only one new release: Enter the Fat Dragon. It’s available to buy on Digital through Amazon Video (and other platforms) from July 14.

What is Enter the Fat Dragon about?

Enter the Fat Dragon is a Hong Kong martial arts film based on the 1978 movie of the same name. Donnie Yen stars as Fallon Zhu, an overweight police officer who has to save his fiance from the Yakuza when she lands in some trouble.

She’s not the only one involved. Teresa Mo stars as Charisma/Christina, who owns a restaurant in Tokyo, Japan. She flees to Hong Kong to avoid a gambling debt, which you know is going to come up during the movie.

Zhu was originally a fit police officer. However, when he’s posted to the Evidence Room and suffers a series of emotional issues, he struggles with his weight. He heads to Japan with the promise of a transfer, but his mission is a failure due to the unsupportive police force. Instead, he chooses to become a crimebuster in Japan, with the help of a Japanese translator and his own martial arts prowess.

It’s not got the greatest reviews from critics, which isn’t surprising for a reboot movie. However, the audience loves it according to Rotten Tomatoes, suggesting that this is something to consider buying when you want something fun.
