SHOWTIME has certainly kept us entertained throughout the last few weeks. It’s also given us a brief dramatized history lesson of pre-World War II Los Angeles. So, will we get more of that on Penny Dreadful: City of Angels tonight, July 5?

There’s some bad news. The previous episode was the season finale. That’s why everything seemed to come to a head, with various characters being killed off. It also left us with some burning questions as it sets up storylines for a potential second season.

That means no new episode tonight. And SHOWTIME isn’t opting for a rerun, either. A new series begins tonight called Outcry. If you’re interested in true crime, it’s going to be something to consider.

Other than that, we’re just waiting for an announcement about a second season. With any hope, it will be quickly renewed, bringing us more of the struggles in Los Angeles before the Second World War. With the current climate, this is certainly something we need to focus on now.
