June 21-27 saw just one new book on the list of most read Amazon books

We’re into another new week, which means a look at the new list of most read Amazon books. Like the previous two weeks, there was very little movement on the list from June 21 to 27.

The main movement was the arrival of one new book. 28 Summers joined the list of fictional books. It did only enter in 18th place, but there is time for it to move up the list next week. Elin Hilderbrand’s books can remain on the Amazon list for a few weeks, so I would expect the same with this one.

With this arrival, both Stephen King books are now at the bottom of the list. The Stand is now in 20th place and may be knocked off the list this week. As the focus on the coronavirus wanes, fewer people are reading the novel.

If It Bleeds saw the biggest movement on the list, losing three places. Could it hang on next week to make 10 weeks on the list?

The biggest mover up was When We Believed in Mermaids by Barbara O’Neal, which moves back up two places. John Grisham’s Camino Winds gained one spot, with the rest of the movement mostly being between the Harry Potter books.

However, a notable non-mover is Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. Despite the Hulu series coming to an end in April, the book remains a popular read. There are discussions of race and white privilege within the book, which could be why it remains so timely.
