The release date and a clip for The Boys Season 2

The Boys Season 2 is heading to Amazon Prime Video in September. Okay, so it’s a long wait, but we do get to see the first three minutes of the season.

The cast reunited, along with Eric Kripke, to bring us details about the second season. We also got to meet some of the new characters in Season 2, and they’re mostly on the Supes side.

The biggest news was that The Boys Season 2 is heading to Amazon Prime Video on Sept. 4 There’s a catch, though. Kripke shared that the first three episodes will drop at once. After that, it will be a weekly release.

Why weekly? Apparently, there’s so much to break down that he and others believe it’s better that we get the weekly releases. Could it lose viewers? I doubt it when it comes to The Boys! The episodes are going to be worth the wait.

At least all episodes were able to film before Toronto shut down filming.

The Boys Season 2 cast

We know that the majority of the original cast will return. During the hour-long panel, we saw all of our Boys back, and the majority of the Supes were there. We also got to meet the newest member of the team, Aya Cash.

By the way, we got to see Nathan Mitchell in the flesh. This is the guy under the Black Noir costume. Colby Minifie is also returning as Ashley Barrett.

Patton Oswalt hosted the panel, who we know is going to be part of the new season. We still don’t know who he is.

Back in April, the official Twitter channel shared a photo of the Supes. There’s an unusual green guy standing there. We still don’t know who he is.

Goran Visnjic will play Alistair Adana and Claudia Doumit is congresswoman Victoria Neuman. Both have worked with Kripke on Timeless

The Boys Season 2 clip

As well as a release date, we got to see the first three minutes of the premiere. This is something Kripke’s bosses didn’t want him to share but he just had to do it. And we’re certainly glad he did.

The clip shows Vought meeting with a bunch of suits, with Jim Beaver (has worked with Kripke numerous times) as the main one. They’re going through the contract for the Supes to protect the United States, but there are certainly some questions about the wording of the contract.

While that happens, we see Black Noir in action. Just wait until you see what he does to the son of one of the Supes he’s after.

You can see the clip at the end of this hour-long panel that put the cast together.

At the 38-minute mark, there’s also a sneak peek of Stormfront, so you’ll want to watch the whole thing.

We also get to know the episode titles, although not the exact order and they don’t tell us much about the episodes:

  • Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker – written by Craig Rosenberg
  • Nothing Like It In The World – written by Michael Saltzman
  • Over The Hill With The Swords Of A Thousand Men – written by Craig Rosenberg
  • Proper Preparation and Planning – written by Rebecca Sonnenshine
  • The Big Ride – written by Eric Kripke
  • The Bloody Doors Off – written by Anslem Richardson
  • We Gotta Go Now – written by Ellie Monahan
  • What I Know – written by Rebecca Sonnenshine

The Boys Season 2 trailer and synopsis

So far, that’s all we get to know about The Boys Season 2. We don’t have a trailer to share but do remember that the show released a teaser at the end of 2019 to give us a hint of things to expect.

The synopsis states: In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found.
